Personal

Dave was born the youngest in a family of three boys and five girls, with 18 years between him and his oldest sister. It wasn’t long before it became obvious there was something wrong with him, as his bones would fracture easily. Walking across the room at the age of 2 he could break a leg. Specialists soon diagnosed him as having Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare bone disorder. Over the years he would break in excess of 30 times. Eventually a number of

treatments, with varying degrees of success, helped. In 1987 he moved to Melbourne, Florida.
He met Margaret Hickingbottom in 2003 online via the MUD Medievia. They became fast friends and eventually arranged to meet in person in 2005. She moved to Florida in 2006 and they were married in January 2008. In 2010, they moved to Fresno, California.

Education

Dave attended Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio, but eventually graduated from Westerville North High School, Westerville, Ohio. He attended Columbus State Community College, received an AA at Brevard Community College in 1992. He attended the IT program at Keiser University.

Career

Shortly after graduating from college he got a job at a local software company, Contact Plus Corp. Dave worked there for nearly 8 years, in sort of an odd-job capacity; developing web pages, writing manuals, testing software. In 1999 he injured his wrist and needed to take a break from day to day work on computers, and quit due to the injury.
In 2005 Dave was hired by Conway Data, Inc. to work on the web version of their Site Selection Magazine, award winning Site Selection Online, where he worked until Fall, 2009.
In 2009, Margaret and Dave founded Designs by Jabae, Inc., with the goal of being the premiere design and consulting firm in Brevard County, Florida. In 2010 they moved their firm's primary location to Fresno, California, but continue to serve their customers in Brevard County.
